Viola Huegerich, 101 of Carroll, died Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Accura Healthcare of Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll. The celebrant will be Fr. Kevin Richter. Music will be by Marcy Anderson, and Michele Phillips. Lector will be Ruth Lux. Eucharistic Minister will be Dale Huegerich. Gift Bearers will be Judy Huegerich, and Kim Shields. Casket Bearers will be Viola’s Family. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Mt. Carmel.
Visitation will be held at Holy Spirit Church from 10-10:45 a.m. on Thursday morning.

Viola Huegerich was born on October 31, 1916 at Carroll, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Bernholtz) Huegerich. She spent her younger years in Mt. Carmel, Iowa, and would graduate from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel High School. Following her formal education Viola was a housekeeper for her grandfather.
Viola then moved to California, upon arriving in California; Viola worked at an Ammunitions Factory during World War II. Following the conclusion of the War, Viola remained in California, where she became a full-time nanny for a family. Viola was treated more than just the nanny by this family, and she remained close with this family, even after her retirement. Following her retirement, she returned to the Carroll community. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking, and visiting with her friends and family. She was a member of Holy Spirit Church in Carroll.
Survivors include many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Lucille Rust, Thelma Wiederin, Marian Vicarius, LuJean Schaefer, Darlene Taylor, Henry Huegerich, Edwin Huegerich, LeRoy Huegerich, Earl Huegerich, and four siblings in infancy; as well as other family, and friends.
