Terry O’Rourke, 66 of Carroll, died Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. Fr. Timothy Johnson of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll will officiate. Honorary Casket Bearers will be the American Home Shield Accounting Department, Roger and Marlene Platz, Bob and Marj Grote, Ken and Sheila Beyer, and Dean and Joanne Putz. Casket Bearers will be Doug Wanninger, Randy Ausman, Ron Meyer, Ron Pickhinke, Dennis Whetstone, and Geoff Adelson. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. at the Ferguson Cemetery near Lake View, Iowa.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Terry was born on August 4, 1949 to Emmett William and Luella Kathryn (Von Ehwegen) O’Rourke in Carroll, Iowa. Terry grew up on the farm, and attended school at Early, Sac City, and later graduated from Lytton High School in 1967. He went on to attend the American Institute of Business in Des Moines and in 1969 he graduated. While at AIB Terry was a member of the Phi Theta Pi Fraternity.
Terry worked for International Harvester in Des Moines and Sioux City until 1977. He then returned to Sac City to start farming in 1977, and continued until 1992. On February 14, 1992 Terry met the love of his life Nancy Conner O’Rourke, and on October 17, 1992 they were married at the Presbyterian Church in Sac City. In 1993 they moved to Carroll, and on September 22, 1993, Terry started to work at American Home Shield in the accounting department until he retired in September of 2015.
Terry enjoyed the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers. He also enjoyed being with friends, talking baseball, football, and farming. For many years he made miniature baseball stadiums, model railroading, and collected sports memorabilia. He also enjoyed remodeling homes, carpentry projects, and driving his John Deere Lawn Mower. He also enjoyed going to baseball games, and yearly trips to Branson. Terry was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll.
Survivors include his wife Nancy of Carroll; step-daughter Kim (Lyle) Wunschel of Arthur; step-son Jason Meusburger of Carroll, and step-grandchildren Shania and Dylan Wunschel; as well as many cousins, and friends.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Luella; his mother-in-law Norma Joann Conner, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
