Sarah Danner, 32 of Carroll, died on Monday, February 10, 2014 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll surrounded by her family.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carroll. Officiating will be Rev. Cindy Johnson assisted by Rev. Vic Johnson. Hymns for the funeral service will be: “I Know That My Redeemer Lives,” “My Hope is Built on Nothing Less,” and “O Lord Now Let Your Servant Depart in Peace,” accompanied by pianist Jan Potthoff. Soloist will be Alex Danner singing “You Are Mine.” Casket Bearers will be: Chuck Danner, Jacob Danner, Brandon Barquist, Craig Rowedder, Jake Schulz, and Rusty Daniel. The St. Anthony Birthplace Nurses will form an honor guard for the funeral service. Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery.
Friends may call at St. John Lutheran Church in Carroll after 4 p.m. on Thursday where there will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume at the church at 9 a.m. on Friday until time of service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be left at the church for the family of Sarah Danner.

Born on December 3, 1981 at Carroll, Iowa, Sarah Elizabeth was the daughter of Rick and Mary (Juilfs) Keat. She grew up as part of the Kevin Avenue gang and attended Fairview Elementary and Carroll Middle School. Sarah graduated as valedictorian of the Class of 2000 from Carroll High School. Pursuing her nursing degree, she attended the University of Iowa and become an avid Hawkeye fan. In 2004, Sarah received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, graduating with honors. In her first job she was employed as an obstetrics nurse at Broadlawns Hospital in Des Moines. She later became one of the OB girls at the Birth Place at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll.
On October 20, 2007, Sarah married John Danner at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carroll. She became a mother to Emma in 2008 and Caleb in 2010. The Danner family made their home at Swan Lake State Park in Carroll where John is a park ranger.
Sarah loved being a mother, wife and nurse. She was a friend to many and a loving daughter and sister. She enjoyed Hawkeye football, being part of the Swan Lake family, helping deliver babies, and taking care of new mothers. Sarah was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carroll.
Sarah is survived by her husband John Danner and her children, Emma and Caleb of Carroll; her parents: Rick and Mary Keat of Carroll; her brother, Brian Keat and his wife Stephenie of Ames; her parents-in-law: Bill and Barb Danner of Carroll; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Michelle Shook of Halbur, Joe (Kelly) Danner of Glidden, Christina (Joddey) Hicks of Ames, Chuck (Elisabeth) Danner of Carroll, Becky (Kyle) Clark of Dickens, Elizabeth (Joe) Lawler of Carroll, and Jacob Danner of Carroll; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Sarah was preceded in death by her grandparents: Welton and Marlyse Juilfs and George and Colet Keat; and her aunt, Nancy Juilfs.
