Ruth “Penny” Likes, 85 of Omaha, Nebraska, died Monday at Regency Park Nursing Home in Carroll.
Widow of Norman, survived by nieces, nephews and many friends. She came to Omaha in 1957 to sing with the Paul Moorhead Orchestra. As Penny Pomeroy she sang with the orchestra for four years at Paxton Hotel. Following marriage in 1961 she worked at KFAB Radio for over 10 years and Jean Sullivan Advertising for three years. From 1980-85 Penny was the vocalist with the Mort Wells Dixieland Band. She was a graduate of Stephens College, Columbia, MO and a member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral.
Per her wishes her body has been given to the Anatomical Board of research, and there will be no services.
