Robert Henkenius, 82 of Carroll, died early Friday morning, November 17, 2017, at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, November 20, 2017 at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. Fr. Steve Brodersen will officiate the funeral service. Casket Bearers will be: Larry Owens, Steven Meade, Kelbi Kelso, Wayne Bellinghausen, Chris Slayman and John Berger. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Grand Junction with military honors conducted by the Carroll American Legion.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., Monday at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll and will continue until time of the funeral service.

Robert L. Henkenius was born on November 20, 1934 at Maple River, Iowa, the son of Clem and Kate (Reiff) Henkenius. He attended school in Maple River and later graduated high school in Early, Iowa. Bob lived in Paton, Iowa for a brief time before serving in the United State Air Force. With his active time as well as the reserves Bob served with the Air Force for over 20 years.
On February 1, 1958, he married Catherine Daneen Griffin. To this union were two children. Bob and Catherine later separated. He later married Agnes “Angel” Bellinghausen. Bob and Angel made their home in Carroll where he was employed at Pac N Save. In retirement he used his woodworking talents to craft items which he sold at various markets. Bob loved the outdoors; enjoyed making bird houses, camping, and doing yard work. He also enjoyed watching football and his greatest joy spending time with his family.
Bob is survived by his wife Angel Henkenius of Carroll; his daughters: Teresa Meade of Greeley, CO, and Mary Beth Meisheid of Carroll; 4 grandchildren: Steven Meade, Laura Martin, Kendra Kelso, and Kelbi Kelso; 3 great-grandchildren: David Martin, Tara Meade, and Calvin Meade; his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Mary Marvin Bellinghausen of Carroll, Alvina Beyer of Florida, Cindy Irlbeck of Carroll, Jeanette Brown of Carroll, Marlene Nelsen of Milford, Mary Bolan of Carroll, Wayne (Sharon) Bellinghausen of Carroll, Polly Bellinghausen of Mason City, and Dorothy Bellinghausen of Carroll; as well as nieces, nephews, other extended relatives and many friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his son Michael Henkenius; daughter, Monica Meisheid and his sisters: Darlene Rosenhauer and Doris Henkenius.
