Patrick Janning, 51 of Carroll, died Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at his home in Carroll following a courageous battle with ALS.
Visitation will be held at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll from 5-7 p.m. on Friday. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. with Fr. Timothy Johnson of Holy Spirit Church officiating. Private family burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.
Memorials may be directed to the ALS Association.

Born on February 27, 1966 at Carroll, Iowa, Patrick was the son of Kenneth and June (Zimmerman) Janning. He attended Kuemper Schools and graduated from Kuemper Catholic High School. Pat continued his schooling at Western Iowa Tech in Sioux City. Following his schooling he returned to the Carroll area where he worked in the family business, Kenneth Janning Terrazzo and Tile Company. Pat was an avid car enthusiast, enjoyed listening to music, and spending time with his family, nieces, nephews, as well as his neighborhood family on Orchard Lane.
In 1998, Pat was diagnosed with ALS. He defied all odds, courageously battling the disease and was and is an inspiration to all who are fighting the same battle.
Pat is survived by his siblings: Keith Janning and his wife Connie of Carroll, Mike Janning and his wife Cindy of Carroll, Rhonda Janning and her husband Mark Von Ahn of Carroll, and Scott Janning and his wife Cindy of Carroll; his nieces and nephews: Lauren, Christopher, Conner, Hannah, Alex, Payton, Carson, and Kendra Janning; his close friends, Tim and Michaela Braun of Atkinson, NE; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and his extended family on Orchard Lane.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and June Janning.
