Larry Billmeier, 70 of Carroll, died Sunday, September 11, 2011 at the Carroll Health Center Nursing Home in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dedham. The Celebrant will be Fr. Andrew Hoffman, assisted by Deacon Louis Meiners. Mass Servers will be Bre Augustus and Jared Tigges. Lector for the funeral mass will be Leah Dunn. Gift Bearers will be Kathy Koester and Karen Schroer. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Larry’s grandchildren: Michael J. Mohr, Amy M. Mohr, Joseph Michael Billmeier, Adam J. Billmeier, Amber M. Mohr, and Natoshia N. Billmeier. Casket Bearers will be Curt Billmeier, Jim Billmeier, David Billmeier, Shaun Billmeier, Dave Schroer, and Curt Augustus. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Dedham.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 5 p.m. on Tuesday where there will be a Christian Wake Service by the parish at 7 p.m.

Larry J. Billmeier was born on June 15, 1941 at Dedham, Iowa the son of Michael and Clara (Lohmann) Billmeier. He spent his younger years in the Dedham Community and attended Dedham-Willey Schools before graduating from Kuemper High School in 1959. Larry worked many years for his aunt Mary Soppe and uncle Ed at Dedham Upholstery Shop. He then moved to Carroll and managed Lemon Tree Oasis Restaurant for a brief time and then drove cab for the Carroll Cab Company for 18 years until his retirement. Larry enjoyed his travels to Egypt and his trips to Louisiana, having coffee with his friends, and loved his dog Peppy.
Survivors include two daughters: Debra Mohr and her husband Ron of Carroll, and Annette Billmeier of Carroll; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; his sister, Mary Ann (Barry) Jensen of Carroll; two brothers: Don (Wanda) Billmeier of Kelly, Louisiana, and Jerry Billmeier of Carroll; and special friend of the family, Kathy Koester of Carroll.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Henry Billmeier; and his sisters in-law: Lora Billmeier and Pam Billmeier.
