Geno Huegerich, age 61, of Carroll, died Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at the University of Creighton Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
Private family graveside services will be held on Friday at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.
The Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll is in charge of arrangements.
Geno was born on August 2, 1949 at Carroll, Iowa the son of Edwin and Florence (Knobbe) Huegerich. He attended school in Carroll and later graduated from Carroll High School. Following his formal education Geno served in the Vietnam War and was honorable discharged. He returned to Carroll where he had various jobs. Geno later started Huegerich Construction where he built motels. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, socializing with his friends and spending time with his children and his grandchildren. Geno was a member of St. Lawrence Parish in Carroll.
Survivors include his son, Ryan Huegerich and his wife Erika of Omaha, Nebraska; his daughter, Amiee Hart and her husband Troy of Spencer; his grandchildren: Caleb and Braxton Huegerich, and Jordan, Piper, Troy, and Jack Hart; one brother, Jim Huegerich of Itasca, Texas, as well as other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers and sisters: Judy, Cindy, and Kevin Huegerich.
