Chad Wittrock, age 36, of Carroll, Iowa, died, Thursday, September 23, 2010, at his home, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 27, 2010 at Holy Spirit Church in Carroll. The celebrant will be Father Timothy Johnson. Mass Servers will be Scott Lampe, Derek Lampe, and Cole Wittrock. Lectors will be Mindy Bennett and Niki Anderson. Gift Bearers will be Chad’s children. Music will be by the Kuemper 8th Grade Choir. The soloist will be Sherry Loughran. The pianist will be Marcy Anderson. Casket Bearers will be Kevin and Jill Venner, Jason and Mel Klein, and Mike and Julie Long.
Friends may call after 3 p.m., Sunday at the Holy Spirit Church in Carroll where there will be a rosary prayed at 4 p.m., followed by a Christian Wake Service by Holy Spirit Parish at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume at the church at 8:30 a.m., Monday until time of the funeral mass. Memorials may be left at the church or United Bank of Iowa for the Chad Wittrock Benefit Fund. The Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll is handling the arrangements.
Chad was born on February 7, 1974, in Carroll, Iowa, the son of Earl and Vernell (Bueltel) Wittrock. He spent his lifetime in the Carroll Community and attended Holy Spirit School and Kuemper High School, graduating with the Class of 1992. In 1994 Chad started All Pro Garage Door Company and was operating till present day. Chad married Carrie Heim on November 4, 1995 at St. Lawrence Church in Carroll, Iowa. The couple made their home Southwest of Carroll. Chad enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, repairing and fixing cars, and most of all the time spent with his family. He was a member of Holy Spirit Church in Carroll.
Survivors include his wife, Carrie Wittrock of Carroll; his children: Ericka, Jordan and Shawn Wittrock, at home; his parents, Earl and Vernell Wittrock of Carroll; three sisters: Linda Iler of Lake City, Rhonda Straight of Denison, and Karla Lampe and her husband John of Fairgrove, MO; five brothers: Randy Wittrock and his wife Lyn of Jefferson, Rick Wittrock and his wife Joan of Dedham, Ronnie Wittrock and his wife Elaine of Carroll, Danny Wittrock and his wife Chris of Irving, TX, and Keith Wittrock and his wife Amy of Garden City, MN; parents-in-law, Ed and Karen Heim of Carroll; brothers and sisters-in-law: Chris Heim and his wife Heidi of Medicine Lake, MN, and Kelsey Knorr and her husband Ryan of Waukee; 32 nieces and nephews, and 7 grand nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Teresa Wittrock in infancy; grandparents: August and Ella Wittrock, and Louis and Irene Bueltel; and grandparents-in-law: Don and Penny Sporrer, and Harold and Vi Heim.
