Beverly Madden, 79, of Carroll, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, at St. John Paul II Parish – Holy Spirit Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Patrick Behm. Music will be provided by Kathy Halbur and Kathleen Macke. Gift Bearers are Gage Madden and Oliver Humble. Eucharistic Minister will be Jane Boes. Honorary Casket Bearers are Beverly’s Great-Grandchildren. Casket Bearers will be Beverly’s Grandchildren: Nikki Bryant, Candace Saffell, Jacy Lebeck, Bert Madden IV, Samantha Humble, Brittany Kokenge, Michelle Andersen, Cole Madden and Chase Madden. Burial will follow in Carroll City Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Additional visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. on Friday prior to services at the church.

Bev was born on May 29, 1946 in Harlan, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Dorothy (Gaer) Zaiger. She grew up around Harlan and Audubon, Iowa. On May 4, 1963 Bev married Bert Madden and celebrated 58 years of marriage. To this union were born a daughter and three sons. Bev was a stay-at-home mom who loved to bake while selling Avon and eventually Mary Kay. Once the kids were older, summers were spent walking beans or detasseling corn. She also sorted corn in the fall in Coon Rapids and made new friends while doing it. For a time, Bev worked as a Head Start assistant. Bert and Bev enjoyed vacationing every summer. A few of their favorite vacation destinations were Hawaii, New York City and Paris. Bev enjoyed cruising in the convertible and spending time with family during the holidays. Every Saturday night Bev and Bert attended Holy Spirit Mass bringing the New Hope Village Group to church. Afterwards they went out to eat at a restaurant and to the movies.
Bev is survived by her four children: LaDonna (Randy) Lebeck of Grand Junction, Iowa, Bert (Pat) Madden III, Mike Madden and Chad (Shelly) Madden all of Carroll, Iowa; nine grandchildren: Nikki
(Michale) Bryant, Candace (Corey) Saffell, Jacy Lebeck (Brandon Lowmiller), Bert (Codee) Madden IV, Samantha (Sam) Humble, Brittany Kokenge, Michelle Andersen, Cole Madden (fiancée Cassandra Brown) and Chase Madden; 19 great grandchildren 1 great-great granddaughter, two sisters, Bonnie (Tom) Madden and Eunice Martens and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bert in 2021; her parents Earl and Dorothy; father and mother-in-law Bert and Genevra Madden and sister Lois Johnson.
