Tony Anthofer, 88 of Carroll, died early Friday morning, July 3, 2015 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Johnson. Con-Celebrant will be Fr. Gary Snyder. Music will be by Barb McDermott and the Holy Spirit Choir. Gift Bearers will be Tony’s daughters: Bonnie Snyder, Nancy Neal, and Kay Walters. Honorary Casket Bearer will by Tony’s grandchildren: Brandon Snyder, Jamie Snyder, Chris Neal, Erik Neal, Travis Walters, Justin Walters, Alyssa Poland, Brandi Meyer, Derek Anthofer, Kacie Anthofer, Cody Anthofer, Nicholas Anthofer, and Hunter Anthofer. Casket Bearers will be: Rudy Anthofer, Cletus Anthofer, Larry Anthofer, Harold Thielen, George Klocke, and Floyd Klocke. Burial will be at 1 p.m. on Monday at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Dedham.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 3:30 p.m. on Sunday where there will be a Christian Wake Service at 5 p.m.
The casket will be moved to Holy Spirit Church at 9:30 a.m. on Monday where visitation will resume until time of the funeral mass.
Memorials may be left at the funeral home or the church for the Carroll Health Center.

Born on October 7, 1926 at Dedham, Iowa, Anthony was the son of Anton and Mary (Klocke) Anthofer. Tony grew up in the Dedham community and attended St. Joseph School.
On May 2, 1950 he was united in marriage to Thelma Gubbels. To this union were six children. In February of 1973, Thelma passed away from a battle with cancer and Tony later married Phyllis Krause.
Tony had a passion for farming and was engaged with grain and livestock farming in the Dedham area for many years until his retirement when he moved to Carroll. He had a great love for his family farm and John Deere machinery. Tony was a member of Holy Spirit Church in Carroll.
Survivors include his wife Phyllis of Carroll; his children: Bonnie (Tom) Snyder of Carroll, Nancy (William) Neal of Springfield, MO, Kay (Dave) Walters of Glidden, Danny Anthofer of Coon Rapids, and Mark (Holly) Anthofer of Coon Rapids; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren, with two on the way; his step-children: Dennis Krause of Texas, Delwin Krause of Glidden, Landis Krause of Carroll, and Donita (Keith) Pryor of Carroll; his sister, Rose Thielen of Dallas Center; as well as other relatives and many friends.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Thelma; his son Jerry Anthofer; his daughter-in-law, Rhonda Anthofer; and his brothers: Rudolph Sr. and Edward Anthofer.
