Ann Lappe, age 92, of Carroll, died Friday morning, October 2, 2015 at Regency Park Nursing Home in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Craig Collison. Music will be by Kate Cuddy and the St. Lawrence Choir. Lector for the funeral mass will be Br. Joe Lappe. Gift Bearers will be Ann’s great-grandchildren. Eucharistic Ministers will be Della Lappe and Br. Joe Lappe. Casket Bearers will be Ann’s grandchildren: Br. Joe Lappe, Patrick (Megan) Lappe, Rosie (Jacob) Heflin, Beckie (Trevor) Petska, Laura Lappe, Carolyn (Steve) Shaw, Kari (Aron) Shultz, and John (Natalie) Lappe. The Carroll Catholic Daughters of the Americas will form an honor guard for the funeral mass. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 4:30 p.m. on Monday where there will be a rosary at 5 p.m. by the Carroll Catholic Daughters of the Americas and a Christian Wake Service at 7 p.m.
The casket will be moved to St. Lawrence Church at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday where visitation will resume until time of the funeral mass.

Born on May 21, 1923 near Mt. Carmel, Iowa, Ann was the daughter of Henry and Anna (Wempe) Naberhaus. She spent her younger years on her family’s farm west of Mt. Carmel and attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School, later graduating from St. Angela Academy in Carroll.
On November 21, 1944, Ann was united in marriage to Virgil Lappe Sr. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Mt. Carmel. The couple made their home southeast of Carroll where Virgil farmed and Ann was a homemaker and raised their family.
Over the years Ann volunteered for many organizations in the Carroll area. She had a deep devotion to her faith being active with the Carroll Catholic Daughters of the Americas and all of the parishes she belonged to in her life.
She enjoyed flowers, playing cards, and quilting. Ann’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. Ann was a member of St. Lawrence Church in Carroll; Ladies Guild, St. Lawrence Funeral Committee and the Carroll Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
Ann is survived by her sons: Virgil Lappe and his wife Della of Glidden and Leo Lappe and his wife Jan of Carroll; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary Ann Naberhaus of Carroll; her brother, Norbert (Marcella) Naberhaus of Carroll; her sister-in-law, Ruth Naberhaus of Scranton; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Virgil Lappe Sr.; two sons: Vincent and Jim Lappe; her granddaughter, Kathy Lappe; her sisters: Laura (Harry) Bruggen, Leonora (Richard) Rothmeyer, and Bernetta (Ray) Pudenz; and her brothers: Maurice (Mary Ann) Naberhaus, Wilfred (Philomena) Naberhaus, Joe (Dorothy) Naberhaus, Eugene Naberhaus, and Leo Naberhaus.
