William Danner, Sr., age 91, of rural Carroll died early Friday, November 7, 2008, at Regency Park Nursing Home in Carroll. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, November 11, 2008, at St. Mary Church in Willey. The Celebrant will be Father Brian Danner. Con-celebrant will be Father Timothy Johnson. Lector will be Mr. Danner’s son, William Danner, Jr. Gift Bearers will be daughters, Anna Mae Danner and Lavonne Boetel. Mass Servers will be great grandchildren, Emily Shook, Alex Danner, and Chase Danner. Eucharistic Ministers will be Dianne Danner and Lorraine Danner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Andy Schmitz, Louis Schmitz, Ed Danzer, and Jerome Gute. Casket Bearers will be Mark Soyer, Kevin Feld, Gary Handlos, Kenny Danzer, Dale Schon, and Martin Danner. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Willey. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 2:30 P.M. Monday. A rosary will be prayed at 3 P.M. Monday. There will be a Christian wake service at 7 P.M. Monday by St. Mary Parish. Mr. Danner was born on August 31, 1917, at Dedham, Iowa, the son of Peter and Anna (Klocke) Danner, Sr. He spent his younger years in the Dedham community and attended St. Joseph School. On January 7, 1941, he was married to Anna Greving at St. Mary Church in Willey with Father Herman Dries officiating. The couple spent their married life on their farm northeast of Willey. Mr. Danner was a grain and livestock farmer. He was a member of St. Mary Parish at Willey. Mr. Danner enjoyed his family, and raising his pigs and Hereford cattle. Survivors include his wife, Anna Danner of Carroll; children, Anna Mae Danner of Omaha, Nebr., Doris Pawol of Sun City, Ariz., Loren Danner and his wife Pan of Carroll, William Danner Jr. and his wife Barbara of Carroll, Lavonne Boetel of Manhattan, Kansas, and Marvin Danner and his wife Dianne of Carroll; 17 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brothers, Leo Danner and his wife Betty of Dedham, and Peter Danner Jr. and his wife Dorothy of Carroll; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorrine Danner of Templeton, Lorraine Danner of Carroll; and Bernard H. “Butch” Greving of Carroll. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons-in-law, Jim Pawol and Gordon Boetel; a grandson, Aaron Danner; brothers, Joseph, Alfred, Clifford, and Jerome Danner; and a sister, Rosalia Schultes.
