William “Bill” A. Halbur of Tucson, Arizona formerly of the Manning, Iowa area, passed away on March 9, 2025, at the age of 73 at the TMC Hospice Peppi’s House surrounded by family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Sharp Center – just adjacent to the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll, on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 1-6 p.m. Interment will be in the Garden of Saint Francis – Urn Garden at All Faiths Cemetery in Arizona.
A Memorial Mass will for William and Marie Halbur will also be held at 6:30 p.m., Friday, October 3, 2025 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Halbur.
Bill was born on November 1, 1951, in Carroll, Iowa, the son of William and Josephine (Kawi) Halbur of Halbur, Iowa. Bill attended St. Augustine school in Halbur through 8th grade. Entering Kuemper Catholic High School in Carroll in which he graduated in 1969. He continued his education at Northern Iowa Community College where he graduated in 1971 in Carpentry that he used the entirety of his life.
Bill met Marie Schultes and was married at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on April 27, 1974, in Dedham, Iowa. Bill and Marie lived in Denison, Iowa and then on an acreage at Manning, Iowa. They were blessed with three sons, Scott, Matthew and Michael. Bill, Marie and boys moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1985. Bill worked as a carpenter while in Iowa and in Arizona.
Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, playing pool, hunting, fishing, playing softball and getting lost in a good book.
Bill is survived by his loving sons, Scott (Nicole) Halbur, Matthew (Shawna) Halbur and Michael (Joanna) Halbur. Grandchildren Christina, Jakob, Matthew, Ryan and Rivera all of Arizona. Also, one great grandchild Isla. Two Sisters, Margaret (Tom) Denker of Halbur, Iowa and Pat (Joe) Goblirsch of Jesup, Iowa, along with brother-in-law, Bernard (Marita) Meiners (Bernard passed 09/01/25) and in-laws Joe (Carol) Schultes, Louis (Shirley) Schultes, Leo (Mari) Schultes, Marian (Ron) Berger, Marcia (Bob) Anderson, Marlene Weeks (Joe Spevak), nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marie (Schultes) Halbur, parents, William and Josephine (Kawi) Halbur, siblings, Cletus (Emaline) Halbur, Norman (Inez) Halbur, Dolores (Halbur) Meiners, Alvin Halbur and Larry (JoAnn) Halbur.
