Steven Schulte, age 26, of Arcadia, Iowa, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010, of injuries received in a farm accident southwest of Westside, Iowa.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M., Monday, May 10, 2010, at St. Ann Church in Vail. The Celebrant will be Father Paul Kelly. Con-celebrants will be Father Paul Arts, Father John Thomas, Father Gregory White, and Father Gabriele White. The casket will be taken to the church at 8:30 A.M. Monday to lie in state until the time of the funeral mass. Lectors will be Joe Schierbrock and Pam Guerrerio. Gift Bearers will be Steve’s siblings, Jennifer White, Keith Schulte, Chris Schulte, Troy Schulte, and Angela Schulte. Mass Servers will be Nick and Mitch Fitzsimmons. Music will be by St. Ann Choir. Violinist will be Susie Schierbrock. Casket Bearers will be Mike Owen, Nick Schulte, Mike Schulte, Casey Pudenz, Alex Vonnahme, Luke Olson, Rick Schulte, and Greg Haberl. Burial will be at St. Ann Cemetery in Vail.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 3:30 P.M. Sunday. A rosary will be prayed at 4 P.M. Sunday. There will be a Christian wake service at 7 P.M. Sunday by the Parish.
Steven was born on June 29, 1983, at Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Gary and Joyce (Frischmeyer) Schulte. He grew up in the Westside community and attended Holy Cross School and graduated from Kuemper High School in 2002. He then attended Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids where he majored in Agriculture Business. On July 22, 2006, he was married to Lindsey Goodner at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Wall Lake, Iowa, and they have made their home in Arcadia. Steve was currently employed by the Drees Company of Carroll as a HVAC technician and also farmed with his father. Steve dearly loved his wife and daughters and enjoyed four wheelers, farming, working, and trying to help others improve their lives.
Survivors include his wife, Lindsey Schulte of Arcadia; his daughters, Baylie and Brynna; his parents, Gary and Mary Ann Schulte of Westside; sisters, Jennifer White and husband Adam of Omaha, Nebr., and Angela Schulte of Westside; his brothers, Keith Schulte of Ames, Chris Schulte of Westside, and Troy Schulte of Westside; parents-in-law, Gail and Barb Goodner of Wall Lake; grandparents, Regina Frischmeyer of Glidden, and Lois Wenzel of Wall Lake; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kristin and Devin Christensen of Indianola; and nieces, Allison White, Brooklyn Christensen, and Breelyn Christensen.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Schulte, in February 1985; and by his grandparents, Ronald and Amelia Schulte, Leonard Frischmeyer, and Leon Wenzel.
