Steve Riesberg, age 63, of Carroll, died Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at Eden Crest Assisted Living in Ankeny.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 23, 2019 at St. John Paul II Parish – Holy Spirit Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Kevin Richter. Music will be by Jane Heithoff and the Holy Spirit Resurrection Choir. Casket Bearers will be: Bruce Riesberg, Brian Riesberg, Keith Riesberg, Kevin Riesberg, Louis Riesberg, and Leon Williams.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll where there will be a Christian Wake Service at 6 p.m. followed by a rosary.
The casket will be moved to Holy Spirit Church on Monday morning where additional visitation will be held from 9:30-10:15 a.m.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be left at the funeral home or the church for Swan Place in Carroll.

Born on August 31, 1956 at Carroll, Iowa, Steve was the son of Paul A. and Dolores (Bierl) Riesberg. Steve spent his younger years in the Halbur area; attended Sacred Heart School in Templeton and later graduated from Kuemper Catholic High School. Following his schooling, Steve was employed at Riesberg Bros. Garage in Halbur and was also engaged in grain and livestock farming until his illness.
He enjoyed welding, metal work, tending to the land and spending time with his family.
Steve is survived by his siblings: Corinne (Randy) Hlavac of Lisle, IL, Bruce (Tami) Riesberg of Bondurant, Brian Riesberg of New London, Kevin (Samantha) Riesberg of Des Moines, and Keith (Elizabeth) Riesberg of Winter Park, CO; his special friend, Katie Dozler of Carroll; his aunts: Mary Lou (Larry) Gehling of Westside, and Joyce (Tom) Ruffino of Omaha; 14 nieces and nephews; as well as other extended relatives and many friends.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Mark Riesberg.
