Ralph Vonnahme, 76 of Mt. Carmel, died Sunday morning, April 22, 2018 at Accura Healthcare of Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Mt. Carmel. The Celebrant will be Fr. Gary Snyder. Mass servers will be Hayden Vonnahme and Hans Kraus. Music will be by Nancy Lemker and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Choir. Lectors for the funeral mass will be Joni Rutten and Kim Vonnahme Kangas. Gift Bearers will be: Madonna Schreck, Lois Vonnahme and Dennis Vonnahme. Eucharistic Minister will be Joni Rutten. Casket Bearers will be: Randy Schreck, Mark Schreck, Keith Schreck, Kevin Schreck, Brian Schreck, Bill Vonnahme, John Hensel, Bill Hensel, and Michael Gross. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and will continue until time of the funeral mass.

Born on April 9, 1942 in Carroll, Iowa, Ralph was the son of Frank H. and Pauline (Bruening) Vonnahme. He spent his entire lifetime in the Mt. Carmel area and attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School. Following his schooling Ralph farmed near Mt. Carmel. Ralph was an avid reader and also loved the outdoors, farm life, and antique tractors. Ralph was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. When his health began to fail, Ralph was a resident at Swan Place in Carroll and most recently at Accura Healthcare of Carroll where he passed away on Sunday.
Ralph is survived by his siblings: Madonna (Gerald) Schreck of Carroll, Lois Vonnahme of Urbandale, Kathryn (Gerald) Gross of Sykesville, Maryland and Dennis (Marilyn) Vonnahme of Breda; his brother-in-law, Jack Hensel of Auburn; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Pauline Vonnahme; his sister, Ione Hensel; and his niece, Mary Elizabeth Schreck.
