Born on December 17, 1928 at Carroll, Iowa, Norma was the daughter of George and Clara (Heires) Bromert. She attended St. Lawrence School and later graduated from Carroll High School with the Class of 1947.
Following her schooling, Norma began her career with Carroll County State Bank. She rose through the ranks to become the first women assistant cashier in 1962. She was later promoted to Assistant Vice President, Vice President & Trust Officer, and at the time of her retirement in 1999 she was Vice President and Bank Rollers Coordinater.
Norma enjoyed traveling. She traveled to ten foreign countries and 49 states. She loved her cats; especially her most recent cat, Mia. Most of all Norma loved her nieces and nephews and enjoyed watching her great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews grow up in front of her. Christmas Eve was always a special time for Norma, as she always opened her home to her family.
Norma was a member of St. Lawrence Parish all her life. She took great pride in being an ancestor of the cornerstone Bromert family that started St. Lawrence parish. She sponsored many children in foreign countries so they would be educated and know the Lord.
Norma is survived by her nieces and nephews: Dick and Rona Bromert of Vail, Dave and Polly Bromert of Liberty, MO, Deann and Mark Hagedorn of Wisconsin, Kathy and Jim Wiederin of Omaha, NE, and Barry and Mickey Snyder of Glidden, as well as other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Kenneth Bromert, and Paul and Merle in childhood; her sister, Ruth Snyder; her brother-in-law, Art Snyder; and her sister-in-law, Florence Bromert.
