Marvin Schenkelberg, 81, of Carroll, died Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2015 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Johnson. Con-Celebrant will be Fr. Ed Tiedeman. Mass servers will be Will Schenkelberg and Josh Wernimont. Music will be by Barb McDermott and the Holy Spirit Choir. Lectors for the funeral mass will be Bill Schenkelberg and Abby Irlbeck. Gift Bearers will be Richard Schenkelberg and Terry Snyder. Casket Bearers will be Gene Schenkelberg, Justin Schenkelberg, Benet Snyder, Matt Irlbeck, Jason Wernimont, and Jeff Boeckman. The Employees of Schenkelberg Implement will form an honor guard for the funeral mass. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll with military honors conducted by the Carroll American Legion.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 3 p.m. on Sunday where there will be a Christian Wake Service at 5 p.m. by Holy Spirit Parish.
The casket will be moved to Holy Spirit Church at 9 a.m. on Monday where visitation will resume until time of the funeral mass.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be left at the funeral home or the church for Kuemper Catholic Schools Foundation.

Born on April 4, 1933 at Carroll, Iowa, Marvin was the son of William and Sophie (Schmitz) Schenkelberg. He attended Sts. Peter and Paul School and later graduated from Carroll High School with the Class of 1951. Following his schooling and upon the purchase of the local John Deere dealership by his father, Marvin began his career with Schenkelberg Implement Company.
Marvin served in the United States Army in Italy from 1956-1958 until his honorable discharge. Marvin returned to the Carroll community where he continued his career with Schenkelberg Implement Company as an active owner until his retirement.
A car enthusiast, one of his greatest memories was attending the Indianapolis 500. He also enjoyed watching western movies and drives in his truck. Marvin thoroughly loved spending time with all of his close friends, whether playing cards, having coffee, or socializing with them.
Marvin had a devotion to his faith being a member of Holy Spirit Church and an avid supporter of Kuemper Catholic Schools.
Marvin is survived by his brothers: Bill and wife Jean Schenkelberg of Carroll, and Larry Schenkelberg of Carroll; his sisters-in-law, Gloria Schenkelberg of Carroll and Virginia Schenkelberg of LeMars; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives and many friends.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Donna Snyder; a sister in infancy, Mary Schenkelberg; his brothers: Alfred Schenkelberg and Paul Schenkelberg; his niece, Pamela Schenkelberg and his nephew, Michael Snyder.
