Linda Collins

Linda Sue Collins, age 60, of Carroll, died Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at St. Anthony's Regional Hospital in Carroll. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll with Pastor David Schaal and Worship Leader Bill Benson from Carroll First Assembly of God Church officiating. Linda’s family will greet friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be left at the funeral home for New Hope Village in Carroll. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for Linda’s family at www.sharpfuneral.com. Inurnment will be at a later date at Rock Island National Cemetery in Rock Island, Illinois. Ms. Collins was born in Genesco, Illinois March 9, 1952 the daughter of Delbert and Ethel (Collins) Hamrick. Linda grew up in Woodward, Iowa and is the oldest of 13 children. Linda was a special person since starting at her birth. She had a positive attitude by being determined and always happy sharing her beautiful smile and always being an Angel. Linda moved to Carroll Iowa in 1992 and was a resident at New Hope Village where she moved to the South Condo Community in 2007 and most recently lived in the Alta Vista Community. Linda loved music, smiling, babies and little children. Linda will be sorely missed by her friends at New Hope and all those that knew her. Linda enjoyed puzzles, coloring, sorting cards, and sitting in her chair in her living room. She shredded papers at work and her favorite foods were scrambled eggs, popcorn puffs, and chocolate pudding. She has begun a new journey where she now resides with the two people she loved the most, her mother and grandmother. Survivors include her siblings: Patricia Butikofer, Springfield, MO; Howard Jeffrey Jr., Kansas City, MO; Robert Jeffrey, Tampa, FL; Donna Fuller, Chillicothe, MO; Tammy Satterly, Colona, IL; Delbert and Paul Hamrick, Spring Valley, IL; James Hamrick, Gothenberg, NE, Ellen Hamrick, Reno, NV; and Loren Hamrick, Sedalia, MO.; her guardian Bette Snyder of Carroll; many nieces and nephews; as well as all her friends at New Hope Village in Carroll; She is preceded in death by her parents and two younger sisters, Betty Jeffrey and Delberta (Hamrick) Hartley.
