LeRoy A. Vogl, age 75, of Carroll, Iowa, died Monday, March 30, 2009, at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 A.M., Thursday, April 2, 2009, at St. Lawrence Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Father Timothy Schott. Lector will be a niece, Kathy Ewoldt. Gift Bearers will be Mr. Vogl’s daughters, Christy DeAnn Beeson, Brandy Renae Nagl, and Leah Marie Vogl. Eucharistic Ministers will be Norbert Kasperbauer, Adella Vogl, and Lorraine Danner. Casket Bearers will be nephews, Dave Danner, Kenny Vogl, Gary Vogl, Rich Vogl, Tom Danner, and Kevin Kasperbauer. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 2:30 P.M. Wednesday. A rosary will be prayed at 3 P.M. Wednesday. There will be a Christian wake service at 6:30 P.M. Wednesday by St. Lawrence Parish. Mr. Vogl was born on December 26, 1933, at Halbur, Iowa, the son of John A. and Elizabeth (Uhlenkamp) Vogl. He spent his younger years in the Halbur and Templeton communities and received his General Educational Development Degree from Des Moines Area Community College in Carroll and then was the first graduate from DMACC with a Degree in Business. He then attended an electronics school in Kansas City, Missouri, for three years and worked in New York City in the electronics business. In 1975 he returned to the Carroll area where he operated a television and electronics business and later was employed by Watters Appliance Center in Carroll for better than fifteen years. On June 6, 1980, he was married to Barbara Molitor-Beeson at Ft. Dodge, Iowa. The couple made their home in Carroll. He was a member of St. Lawrence Parish. Mr. Vogl enjoyed his family, gardening, fishing, the outdoors, and playing cards. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Vogl of Carroll; his daughters, Christy DeAnn Beeson of Des Moines, Brandy Renae Nagl and her husband Mike of West Des Moines, and Leah Marie Vogl and her special friend Jimmy Kennebeck of Carroll; four grandchildren, Marissa Leigh Kennebeck, Macie Marie Kennebeck, Max Anton Kennebeck, and Caleb Michael Nagl; brothers, Joseph Vogl and his wife Lorraine of Atlantic, John S. Vogl and his wife Adella of Adair, and Earl Vogl and his wife Laurel of Carroll; sisters, Betty Danner of Dedham, Dorothy Danner and her husband Pete of Carroll, Mary Ann Kasperbauer and her husband Norbert of Manilla, and Levan Eich of Bellevue, Nebr.; his father and mother-in-law, John and Ruth Molitor of Coon Rapids; and brother-in-law, Randy Molitor of Kaiser, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers-in-law, Michael Eich and Leo Danner.
