Leo Sibenaller, 52 of Roselle, died Thursday, June 26, 2014 in Roselle. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Roselle. The Celebrant will be Fr. Steven Brodersen. Con-Celebrants will be Fr. Timothy Johnson and Fr. Gary Snyder. Mass servers will be A.J. Schreck and Alex Dentlinger. Music for the funeral mass will be by Sue Feilmeier, Holy Angels Choir with Jake Gute as soloist. Lector will be Jerry Rupiper. Gift Bearers will be Leo’s children: Ashley, Austin, Grant and Logan Sibenaller. Eucharistic Ministers will be Dan Sturm and Tom Simons. Casket Bearers will be: Mark Gehling, Neal Rupiper, Kevin Schreck, Joe Rupiper, John Behrens, and Russ Riesenberg. Burial will be in Holy Angels Cemetery in Roselle. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 3 p.m. on Monday where there will be a rosary at 4 p.m. and a Christian Wake Service at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be left at the funeral home or the church for Holy Angels Parish. Leo Fredrick Sibenaller was born on June 21, 1962 at Carroll, Iowa the son of Peter John “Jerry” and Phyllis (Hansman) Sibenaller. He spent his entire lifetime in the Roselle Community and attended Holy Angels Grade School, later graduating from Kuemper Catholic High School with the Class of 1980. On September 30, 1995 he was united in marriage to Wendy Venteicher at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Roselle. Leo furthered his education with an Associate in Claims from the Insurance Institute of America and a Bachelor’s in Science from the University of Phoenix University. Leo was employed with Allied Group Insurance as a Physical Damage Appraiser, held several management positions at GuideOne Insurance in Des Moines, Iowa and was currently the owner and operator of the Roselle Tavern. He enjoyed fixing up cars, attended his children’s sporting events and activities and socializing with his family and friends. Over the years Leo was devoted and instrumental in various projects and volunteer work within Holy Angels Parish, Parish Cemetery, and the community of Roselle, which he took a tremendous amount of pride in. Survivors include his wife Wendy Sibenaller of Roselle; his children: Ashley, Austin, Grant, and Logan Sibenaller, all at home; his mother, Phyllis Sibenaller of Carroll; his parents-in-law, Gary and Betty Venteicher of Carroll; his grandmother-in-law, Armella Venteicher of Carroll; his brothers: Dennis (Rose) Sibenaller of Templeton and Harold (Ginny) Sibenaller of Austin, MN; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Jill Bruch of Roselle, Janell (Steve) Vollstedt of Manilla, Chris Venteicher of Omaha, NE, Todd Venteicher of Carroll, Pat Venteicher of Carroll, and Jamie (Holly) Venteicher of Carroll; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other extended relatives and many friends. Leo was preceded in death by his father; his brother Leroy Sibenaller; his great niece, Talia Bruch; and his grandparents: J.P. and Johanna Sibenaller and John and Rose Hansman.
