Leo Naberhaus, 93 of Mt. Carmel, died Friday, February 13, 2015 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 16, 2015 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Mt. Carmel. The Celebrant will be Fr. Gary Snyder. Music will be by Ann Pottebaum and the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Choir. Lector will be Della Lappe. Gift Bearers will be Carol DeBondt and Kathy Wiederin. Eucharistic Minister will be Sandy Wittrock. Casket bearers will be Leon Naberhaus, Mark Naberhaus, Steve Naberhaus, Mike Naberhaus, Virgil Lappe, and Jerry Rothmeyer. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 3:30 p.m. on Sunday where there will be a rosary at 4 p.m. by the Carroll Knights of Columbus and a Christian Wake Service at 6 p.m. by the parish.

Leo Bernard Naberhaus was born on October 23, 1921 on the family farm west of Mt. Carmel, Iowa. He was the son of Henry and Anna (Wempe) Naberhaus. Leo grew up near the Mt. Carmel community where he attended school at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School, and graduated from St. Bernard’s Catholic High School in Breda. After graduation Leo farmed his entire life up until his retirement. During that time Leo also worked as a field man for the Carroll County A.S.C.S. Office.
Leo enjoyed playing cards, playing softball, and baseball in his younger days, and attending his coffee group in Breda. Leo was very devoted to his faith, and the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish. He was an honorary charter member of the Carroll Knights of Columbus, and an active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish.
Survivors include his sisters: Mary Ann Naberhaus of Mt. Carmel, and Ann Lappe of Carroll, his brother, Norbert Naberhaus and his wife Marcella of Carroll; his sister-in-law Ruth Naberhaus of Scranton; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Maurice (Mary Ann) Naberhaus, Wilfred (Philomena) Naberhaus, Joe (Dorothy) Naberhaus, and Eugene Naberhaus; his sisters: Laura (Harry) Bruggen, Leonora (Richard) Rothmeyer, Bernetta (Ray) Pudenz; and a brother-in-law Virgil Lappe, Sr.
