Lawrence Riesselman, 98 of Carroll, died early Wednesday morning at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 7, 2016 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Johnson. Music will be by: Jake Gute, Kelly Nunn, Anna Belzer, Kristel and Steven Leib. Lectors for the funeral mass will be, Dan Belzer and Michelle Riesselman. Gift Bearers will be: Kristina Riesselman, Leah Riesselman, and Rachael Schreck. Eucharistic Ministers will be Mark and Mary Schreck. Casket Bearers will be: Erik Riesselman, Chad Riesselman, Kurt Riesselman, Isaac Riesselman, Bill Riesselman, and Michael Bayer. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll with military honors conducted by the Carroll American Legion.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 2:30 p.m. on Sunday where there will be a rosary at 3 p.m. and a Christian Wake Service at 5 p.m.
The casket will be moved to Holy Spirit Church on Monday morning where visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of the funeral mass.

Born on February, 4, 1918 at Halbur, Iowa, Lawrence Joseph was the son of Henry and Kathrina (Muhlbauer) Riesselman. He spent his younger years in the Halbur area and attended St. Augustine School. Following his schooling, Lawrence worked as a farm hand. A veteran of World War II, Lawrence served in the United States Army from 1941 until his honorable discharge in 1945. While in the Army he was a combat engineer with duties in North Africa, Sicily, and Italy. Following his service to the country he returned to Carroll.
On September 25, 1947 Lawrence was united in marriage to Ada Gill at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Carroll. Over the years he was employed at Franzwa Welding which later became Carroll Machine and Welding. Lawrence then went to work at Glidden Machine and Welding until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, walking, and exercising. Lawrence will be remembered for his deep devotion to his family, and faith, praying the rosary daily. Lawrence was a member of the Carroll American Legion for over 50 years, and member of Holy Spirit Parish.
Lawrence is survived by his sons: David (Karen) Riesselman of Lake View, Dennis (Sue) Riesselman of Willey, Allan (Cindy) Riesselman of Dedham, and Michael (Connie) Riesselman of Willey; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; his siblings: Walt Riesselman of Vail, Regina Frischmeyer of Lidderdale, Andy (JoAnn) Riesselman of Carroll, Leonard (Donna) Riesselman of Halbur, Alice Christiansen of Denison, Kathryn Curnyn of Denison, and Vernon (Betty) Riesselman of Halbur; his sister-in-laws: Edith Riesselman of Kansas City, MO, and Linda Riesselman of Omaha, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ada in 2013; brothers: Vincent, Henry, and Herbert Riesselman; and his sister Marie Wernimont.
