Kirk Rauch, age 65, of Carroll, died Friday, July 17, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Auburn. The Celebrant will be Fr. Lynn Bruch. Music will be by Carmen Ludwig and the St. Mary’s Choir. Gift bearers will be Peggy Rauch, Kirk Rauch, Jr., James Rauch, and Willie Rauch. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery near Auburn with military honors conducted by the Auburn American Legion.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the mass at the church.

Born on November 22, 1949 at Carroll, Iowa, Kirk was the son of Joseph Ralph and Mary Margaret (Maun) Rauch. He grew up near Auburn, and graduated from St. Bernard’s High School in Breda in 1968. After high school, Kirk enlisted in the United States Navy. Kirk served until his medical discharge. Upon his return from the Navy, Kirk attended and later graduated from Briar Cliff University in Sioux City. After graduation Kirk worked at the United States Postal Service in South Sioux City until his retirement. In 2013 Kirk returned to the Carroll Community. Kirk enjoyed golfing, and fishing.
Survivors include his children: Kirk Joseph Rauch of South Sioux City, NE, Peggy Rauch and fiancé of Iowa City, James Rauch and fiancé of Iowa City, and his adopted son Willie Rauch of South Sioux City, NE; one granddaughter: Piper Schwab; his siblings: Francella Voight and family of Arizona, Tom Schroeder and family of Hubbard, and Michelle Single and family of South Carolina; two special cousins: Marlene (Mike) Vanderheiden and family of Carroll, and Darlene (Dennis) Wiederin and family of Carroll.
Kirk was preceded in death by his parents; and special cousin: Maxine (Richard) Bauer.
