Born on September 25, 1975, Katherine was the youngest daughter of Richard and Jean Lees. Katherine was born and raised in Bellevue Nebraska with her two older sisters Jennifer and Allison. Katherine was enrolled in CHAP School (Children Have A Potential) in Bellevue for her adolescent through teenage years. She graduated from CHAP school in May 1997. In 2000, Katherine and her parents relocated to Carroll to move Katherine into New Hope Village. Katherine was welcomed as a new resident of Prairie Rose cottage and had many friends in the community. While at New Hope, she enjoyed sharing meals with other residents, spending Sunday afternoons at her mom and dad’s home, getting her nails painted, having ice cream and spending time outside in the sunshine. Surrounded by a loving and nurturing staff and lots of friendly faces, Katherine thrived at New Hope and led a very happy life.
Katherine was a much beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many. Left to cherish her memory and celebrate her life is her mother Jean Lees of St. Louis, and sisters Jennifer Hummel and husband Jeff of St. Louis, MO.; Allison Kopf and husband Pat of Nashville, TN; and eight nieces and nephews.
Katherine was preceded in death by her father Richard Lees.
Eternal rest, grant unto her O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her.
