Jeff Tigges, 49 of Defiance, died Monday, August 3, 2015 at his home in Defiance, following a brief battle with cancer.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Willey. The Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Johnson. Music will be by Barb Danner and the St. Mary’s Choir. Lector for the funeral mass will be Glen Reineke. Gift Bearers will be Ryan Ahrenholtz and Ryley Ahrenholtz. Eucharistic Minister will be Kathy Riesberg. Honorary Casket Bearers will be: Rachel Riesberg-Lemka, Sarah Riesberg, Kendra Riesberg, Chris Greteman, Eric Greteman, Ryan Greteman, Peter Tigges, Luke Tigges, and the Employees of Panama Transfer. Casket Bearers will be: Glen Reineke, Neil Reineke, Shawn Greteman, Dan Broich, Chad Fahn, Seth Nelson, and Matt Schmitz. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll with a sharing of memories at 8 p.m.
Additional visitation will be from 8-9 a.m. Saturday morning at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll.

Born on March 3, 1966 at Carroll, Iowa, Jeff was the son of Aldred “Allie” and Wanda (Lawson) Tigges. He spent his younger years in the Willey area, attended Carroll Community Schools and graduated with the Class of 1985. Jeff then attended Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs.
Following his schooling he was employed at Stowe Ready Mix in Harlan for several years and then worked many years for Panama Transfer where he was currently employed.
Jeff enjoyed fishing, hunting and was an avid Oakland A’s fan. Most of all, Jeff loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and socializing with his many friends.
Jeff is survived by his son Justin Tigges of Council Bluffs; his step-sons: Jesse McCullough of Council Bluffs, and Jamie McCullough of Granger; his siblings: Jackie Reineke of Carroll, Bob Tigges of Manning, Cheryl Greteman of Carroll, Ken (Christy) Tigges of Ankeny, and Kathy Riesberg of Carroll; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other extended relatives and many friends.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Aldred “Allie” and Wanda Tigges, and his nephew, Dale Reineke.
