Born on September 27, 1942 at Coon Rapids, Iowa, Jim was the son of John and Viola (Enfield) Kennedy. He grew up in Coon Rapids. Jim became a resident at New Hope Village where he lived a full and happy life. He enjoyed when people came to visit New Hope Village to play Bingo, Checkers, Kings in the Corner, and UNO. He also enjoyed making hot-pads to sell, making jewelry with beads to give away to people with a smile, attending church on Saturday nights, going on vacation, and reading. Most of all Jim enjoyed watching shows like Westerns, the Walton’s, and Little House on the Prairie. Jim will be remembered for his great “bear” hugs that he enjoyed giving to anyone in need of a hug. Jim became a resident of the Manning Plaza in Manning in April of 2015, where he continued to make friends.
James is survived by a good friend Peggy, and also many wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, John and Joyce.
