Isabelle Feld, age 90, of Carroll, Iowa, died Saturday, January 9, 2010, at the Carroll Health Center Nursing Home in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M., Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at St. Lawrence Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Father Timothy Schott. Lector will be a grandson, David Oxenford. Gift Bearers will be her sons, Larry Feld, Mark Feld, and Steve Feld. The Christian Symbols will be placed by her daughters, Marlou Muhlbauer, Maxine Zielinski, Deanna Oxenford, Linda Schmitz, Beverly Robertson, and Jane Schultes. Eucharistic Ministers will be Norb Muhlbauer, Judy Feld, and Kris Feld. The St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary will form an honor guard at the church. Casket Bearers will be grandsons, Tom Muhlbauer, John Muhlbauer, Tim Zielenski, Ben Feld, Brad Feld, Kevin Feld, David Oxenford, Troy Schmitz, Travis Schmitz, Tony Schmitz, Michael Robertson, Luke Feld, Spencer Feld, and Tyler Feld. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 3:30 P.M. Tuesday. A rosary will be prayed at 4 P.M. Tuesday. There will be a Christian wake service at 7:30 P.M. Tuesday by St. Lawrence Parish. Memorials may be left at the funeral home or church for St. Lawrence Parish or the Kuemper Catholic Schools Foundation.
Mrs. Feld was born on December 1, 1919, at Willey, Iowa, the daughter of Maximillian and Rose (Werner) Neppel. She spent her younger years in the Willey and Lidderdale communities and attended St. Mary School and Holy Family School. On May 7, 1940, she was married to Charles W. Feld at Holy Family Church in Lidderdale with Father Lawrence Schoeppner officiating. The couple farmed two miles northeast of Carroll where Mrs. Feld was a homemaker and raised their ten children. In 1993 the Feld’s moved to Carroll. She was a member of St. Lawrence Parish, Parish Ladies Guild, St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary, St. Clair Prayer Group, card clubs, and was a New Hope Village Store volunteer. Mrs. Feld enjoyed her family and friends, playing cards, and baking.
Survivors include her children, Marlou Muhlbauer and her husband Norb of Omaha, Nebr., Maxine Zielinski and her husband Ted of Omaha, Nebr., Larry Feld and his wife Judy of Carroll, Deanna Oxenford and her husband Denny of Omaha, Nebr., Linda Schmitz and her husband Larry of Omaha, Nebr., Beverly Robertson of Omaha, Nebr., Jane Schultes and her husband Randy of Carroll, Mark Feld of Carroll, and Steve Feld and his wife Kris of Milford; a daughter-in-law, Lynette Feld of Carroll; thirty grandchildren; forty-five great grandchildren; a brother, Matt Neppel of Carroll; sisters, Agnes Stoolman of Carroll and Arlene Dalhoff of Carroll; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean Neppel of Iowa City, Orsola Neppel of Jackson, New Jersey, and Esther and Glen Eich of Omaha, Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Feld, in September 1993; a son, Dean Feld, in October 2007; her parents; grandchildren, Tracy Schmitz and Kevin Muhlbauer; and brothers, Ralph, Melvin, and Arby Neppel.
