Ida Hoffmann, age 81, of Carroll, died Monday, March 16, 2015 at the Carroll Heath Center in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Schott. Music will be by Kate Cuddy and the St. Lawrence Choir. Lector will be Sue Seidl. Gift Bearers will be Kevin, Lori, John, and Jacob Stork. Eucharistic Ministers will be Donna Grote, Lois Dentlinger, and Ann Christiansen. Casket bearers will be Ida’s grandsons: Chris Capps, Matt Hoffmann, J.R. Hoffmann, Scott Stork, Jarrod Capps, Mike Hoffmann, Logan Capps, Mitchell Hoffmann, John Stork, Jacob Stork, and Craig Teter. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll, after 3:30 p.m. on Monday where there will be a Rosary at 4 p.m. and a Christian Wake Service at 6 p.m.
The casket will be moved to St. Lawrence Church at 9 a.m. Tuesday, where visitation will resume until the time of the funeral mass.

Born on July 14, 1933 at Carroll, Iowa, Ida was the daughter of Anton and Ida (Zubrod) Williams. She grew up on the family farm south of Halbur. Ida attended school at St. Augustine School in Halbur, and after her schooling she worked on the family farm. On June 2, 1953 she was united in marriage to Ralph Hoffmann at St. Augustine Church in Halbur. For a brief time the couple lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado, before returning to the Carroll community, where she lived the rest of her life. Ida was a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed playing cards, spending time with her family and friends, and her puzzle books. Ida was active in the American Legion Auxiliary, holding membership for over 30 years, and was a past president. Ida was also a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll.
Left to celebrate Ida’s life are her children: Ralph (Rebecca) Hoffmann of the Philippines, Diane Hoffmann of Carroll, Tom (Janet) Hoffmann of Arcadia, Nancy (Randy) Capps of Okawville, IL, Roxane Teter of Carroll, Doug Hoffmann of Carroll, and Lori (Kevin) Stork of Breda; 11 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, and 7 great-grandchildren; Also surviving is her brother: Louis Williams of Carroll, her sisters-in-law: Velma Williams of Halbur, Bernice Williams of Carroll, Esther Williams of Manning, Anita Williams of Minnesota, Mary Theresa Hoffmann of Arcadia, and Marilyn Hoffmann of Carroll; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
Ida was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph in 1976, and her siblings: Cyril Williams, Leo Williams, Virgil Williams, Tony Williams, Ray Williams, Rita Meier, Martha Riesberg, and Catherine Irlmeier.
