Florence Wolterman, age 96, of Templeton, Iowa, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 P.M., Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Sacred Heart Church in Templeton. The Celebrant will be Father Dale Reiff. Lector will be Wanita Rolfes. Gift Bearers will be Maxine Gingery and Pat Eskens. Mass Servers will be Nick Klocke and Nick and Jake Fitzsimmons. Eucharistic Ministers will be Lou Ann Otto, Sheryl Carlisle, and Jane Schaefer. Casket Bearers will be Jane Schaefer, Barbara Fitzsimmons, Larry Wolterman, Richard Rolfes, Allen Eskens, Roger Gingery, and Kim Raso. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Templeton. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 2:30 P.M. Friday. A rosary will be prayed at 3 P.M. Friday. Another rosary will be prayed at 7 P.M. Friday by Sacred Heart Parish. Mrs. Wolterman was born on March 24, 1912, at Mt. Carmel, Iowa, the daughter of William and Margaret (Boecker) Goecke. She spent her younger years in the Breda community and attended St. Bernard School. On January 20, 1931, she was married to Lawrence L. Wolterman at St. Bernard Church in Breda. The couple lived at Fonda, Willey, and Dedham, and in 1940 moved to Templeton. She was homemaker and for twenty years was employed by the Hot Lunch Program at Sacred Heart School. The Wolterman’s moved to Carroll in 1984 and she has been a resident of St. Anthony Nursing Home since September 1989. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and Parish Ladies Guild. Mrs. Wolterman enjoyed her family, dancing, and baking. Survivors include her children, Bethene Klocke and her husband Lawrence of Carroll, Lou Ann Otto and her husband Clair of Carroll, Harlan Wolterman and his wife Janice of Bellevue, Nebr., Maxine Gingery and her husband Joe of Onamia, Minn., Wanita Rolfes and her husband Ron of Minnetonka, Minn., Pat Eskens and her husband Bill of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Linda Klocke of Marion; 35 grandchildren; 81 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Wolterman of Carroll. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence Wolterman, in March 1992; a grandchild, Carol Wedel; great grandchildren, Michael Otto, Bradley Carlisle, and Jay Stella; brothers, Frank and Clarence Goecke; and sisters, Elisabeth Wernimont, Theresa Oswald, Mary Ann Schelle, and Evelyn Wilberding.
