Evelyn T. Snyder, age 99, of Carroll, died early Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll. The celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Johnson. Music will be by Barb McDermott, and the Holy Spirit Choir with Ashley Clair as soloist. Lectors will be Lynn Gorman, and Christy Vogel. Gift Bearers will be Peggy and Matt Greteman. Casket Bearers will be Tammy Snyder, Linda Walker, Denise Kinder, Wendy Henderson, and Trish Harris. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.
Visitation will begin at Holy Spirit Church at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, and continue until the time of the funeral mass.

Born on August 10, 1917 at Carroll, Iowa, Evelyn was the daughter of Steve and Emma (Wilkens) Vanderloo. She attended Sts. Peter and Paul School in Carroll.
On August 17, 1937 Evelyn was united in marriage to Leonard W. Snyder at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Carroll with Monsignor Henry B. Karhoff officiating. The couple made their home in Carroll where Evelyn was a devoted mother, and homemaker. Evelyn was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, and Ladies Guild.
Evelyn is survived by her four children: Dale (Judy) Snyder of Aurora, CO, Dennis (Mardy) Snyder of Carroll, Marilyn Kay (Bob) Jetter of Las Vegas, NV, and Leonard Jr. (Jan) Lakewood, CO; 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandsons; her brother-in-law: Marvin Snyder, and three sisters-in-law: Ruth Ann Snyder, Evelyn Wheeler, and Millie Dion; and a niece Mary Lou (Norbert) Kirsch.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Leonard W. Snyder on December 15, 2005, a great-grandson Maxwell Tow, her parents and her brothers: Edward, John, Louis, and George, and her sisters: Elizabeth Gray, Mildred Stangl, Lena Cale, and Agnes Burgart.
