Dianne Nieland, 73 of Carroll, died Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll with Fr. Timothy Johnson of Holy Spirit Parish officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.
Visitation will be held at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday until time of the funeral service.

Born on June 30, 1942 at Lake City, Iowa, Dianne was the daughter of Walter and Sylvia (Schroeder) Beckman. She attended country school and later graduated from Carroll High School.
On April 8, 1961, Dianne was united in marriage to Merlin Venteicher. To this union were six children: Joseph, Julie, Lisa, Michael, Michele, and Renee. Following the passing of her husband, Dianne later married Allen Nieland on November 23, 1990.
Throughout her working career, she was employed at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll and also worked at Farmland Foods in Carroll for 28 years.
Allen and Dianne enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and their many friends. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, baking, doing puzzles, and was an avid 49ers and Giants fan.
Left to celebrate her life is her husband, Allen Nieland of Carroll; her daughters: Julie Sanders and her husband Jim of Carroll, Lisa Siegner and her husband Paul of Carroll, Michele Hatella and her husband Kurt of New Richmond, WI, and Renee Boardman and her husband Greg of Clear Lake, WI; 8 grandchildren: Alex (Ashley) Feilmeier of Des Moines, Samantha Boumeester of Eagan, MN, Nicole Siegner of St. Paul, MN, Shelby Boumeester (Brett Przymus) of St. Cloud, MN, Ashley Siegner of Carroll, Adam Boardman of Clear Lake, WI, Brett (Denise) Hatella of Osceola, WI, and Seth Boardman of New Richmond, WI; 3 great-grandchildren: Charlotte, James, and Gracie; her sisters: Dorothy Frank of Wall Lake, and Dolores Bonney of Denver, CO; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Jerry (Eunice) Venteicher, Elmer (Linda) Venteicher, Marlene Beckman, Phyllis Venteicher, Jerry (Carolyn) Nieland, Randy (Debbie) Nieland, and Don (Laurie) Nieland; her aunt, Lavonne Benson; as well as other extended relatives and many friends.
Dianne was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Merlin Venteicher; her sons: Joseph and Michael Venteicher; her sister, Darlene (Arnold) Hartje; her brother, Donald Beckman; her parents-in-law: Joseph and Elizabeth Venteicher and Arnold and Germaine Nieland; and her brothers-in-law: Arland Frank, Richard Bonney, Ralph Venteicher, and Donald Venteicher.
