Delores Schulz, age 82, of Carroll, Iowa, died Friday, August 5, 2011 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Schott. Mass servers will be: Blake Baumhover, Jacob Schaefer, and Elise Berg. Music will be by Marcy Anderson and the St. Lawrence Choir with Shari Schulte as the song leader. Lectors will be Dee’s Grandson’s, Travis Schulz and Michael Millenacker. Gift Bearers will be Dee’s Daughters, Nancy and Tammy Schulz. Eucharistic Ministers will be Joleen Schulz and Jeanine Stilwill, and Dee’s sister, Joyce Baumhover. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Dee’s Granddaughters: Heather Millenacker Jones, Angie Fuller, Kasee Fuller, Autumn Schulz, Amber Schulz, Ashlee Daniel, Jamie Coobs, Trisha Roetker, Leah Roetker, and Jacque Dentlinger and Granddaughter’s in-law: Gretchen Schulz, Lynnette Schulz, Carrie Schulz, Jenny Schulz, Angela Fuller, and Allison Millenacker. Casket Bearers will be Dee’s Grandson’s: Michael Millenacker, Travis Schulz, Ryan Fuller, Tim Schulz, Aaron Schulz, Jake Schulz, and Nick Schulz, and Grandson’s in-law: Joe Daniel, Jon Kitt, Curt Dentlinger, and Dean Coobs. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. Born on January 5, 1929 at Arcadia, Iowa, Delores was the daughter of Henry and Clara (Koch) Engelen. She was raised and attended school in the Arcadia and Westside area. She married Theodore Schulz on June 7, 1948. Throughout her lifetime she was employed at Hallmark, General Electric, The Carrollton, and was devoted to her family at home. She loved to golf, walk, and read, but most of all spending time with her family. Delores was a member of St. Lawrence Parish, Parish Ladies Guild and the Epsilon Chi Chapter Sorority. Survivors include her children: Karen Millenacker of Oklahoma, City, OK, Bruce Schulz and his wife Maureen of Carroll, Jenny Fuller and her husband Roger of Marion, Royce Schulz and his wife Shelley of Carroll, Garry Schulz of Omaha, NE, Deb Roetker and her husband Joe of Carroll, Nancy Schulz of Carroll, and Tammy Schulz of Carroll; 17 Grandchildren; 21 Great-Grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; three sisters: Lari (Jim) O’Herron of Mesa, AZ, Jan (Denny) Boes of St. Louis, MO, and Joyce Baumhover of Carroll; two brothers: Marvin Engelen of Dexter, and Bill (Kathy) Engelen of Anthum, AZ, as well as other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Allan Schulz in infancy; her sister, Mardella Engelen in infancy; her brother in-law, Larry Baumhover; her sister in-law, Mari Helen Engelen, and Theodore Schulz.
