Delores “Dottie” Sieve, age 88, of Carroll, died Friday, September 2, 2016, at the Hawkeye Care Center in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll. The celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Johnson. Con-Celebrants will be Fr. Lynn Bruch, and Fr. Steve Brodersen. Music will be by Barb McDermott and the Holy Spirit Choir with John Wagner as soloist. Lectors will be Katie Baumhover, and Olivia Sieve. Gift Bearers will be Lydia Daniel, Makayla Schrad, Landen Mantz, and Mya Middendorf. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Katie Baumhover, Amanda Mantz, Rebecca Sieve, Olivia Sieve, and Brad Sieve. Casket Bearers will be Jeff Bruning, Nick Schrad, Mike Schrad, Ben Sieve, Todd Sieve, Christy Christenson, Jennifer Daniel, and Sara Middendorf. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, at St. John’s Cemetery in Arcadia.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, where there will be a Rosary prayed at 5 p.m., and a Christian Wake Service held at 7 p.m.
The casket will be moved to Holy Spirit Church on Wednesday morning where visitation will resume at 10 a.m. and continue until the time of the funeral mass.

Born on August 11, 1928 at Roselle, Iowa, Delores was the daughter of Nicholas and Catherine (Bruning) Goetzinger. She grew up in Roselle, and attended Holy Angels School. On September 14, 1948 Dottie was united in marriage to Kenneth Sieve at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Roselle. The couple made their home near Arcadia where they were active in grain and livestock farming. In addition to helping with the farming operation; Dottie was a devoted homemaker, caring for her husband, and children.
In 1978 Dottie and Ken moved to Maple River. In retirement they traveled extensively to various locations across the United States. Dottie loved spending time with her family, and also enjoyed crafts, quilting, sewing, and playing cards. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish in Carroll, and past member of St. John’s Parish in Arcadia and St. Francis Parish in Maple River.
Survivors include her children: Randy (Joyce) Sieve of Stratford, Joan (Larry) Bruning of Carroll, Jane (Craig) Schrad of Arcadia, and Kevin (Deb) Sieve of Alleman; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Alma Brincks of Roselle, and Vince (Max) Goetzinger of Roselle, as well as several nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth in 2012, her parents; a granddaughter-in-law: Heather Sieve; and her siblings: Irene (Tony) Lammers, Edwin (Rayneldis) Goetzinger, Alvin Goetzinger, Marcella (John) Guess, Leota (Benny) Miller, Rita (Carroll) Birch, Matt (Agnes) Goetzinger, Clete (Darlene) Goetzinger, and Elmer and Walter Goetzinger in infancy.
