DeEtta Bueltel, 93, of Carroll, died Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2014, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Schott. Music will be by Marcy Anderson and the St. Lawrence Choir with Jean Knobbe as cantor. Lectors will be Craig Bueltel, Donna Bueltel, and Jean Uhlenkamp. Gift Bearers will be DeEtta’s grandsons: Joshua, Joseph, Ian and Zachary Bueltel. Honorary Casket Bearers will be DeEtta’s nieces and nephews. Casket Bearers will be Joshua Bueltel, Joseph Bueltel, Ian Bueltel, Zachary Bueltel, Mark Uhlenkamp, and Bryan Houlihan. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. The St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary and the Carroll Catholic Daughters of the Americas will form an honor guard for the funeral mass.
Friends may call at St. Lawrence Church on Friday, after 9:30 a.m., where visitation will be held until the time of the funeral mass.

Born on July 24, 1920, on the family farm near Carroll, Iowa, DeEtta was the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Klocke) Venteicher. She attended Sts. Peter and Paul School. On January 16, 1946, DeEtta was united in marriage to Edward Bueltel at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll by Fr. Arthur Poeckes. The couple lived in Mitchell, South Dakota for one year before moving back to Carroll. DeEtta was a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed playing bridge, oil painting, and traveling. DeEtta also was very active, enjoying her time at the Carroll Recreation Center, and golfing until she was 90 years old. She was very devout to her faith, and to her parish, helping with many funeral luncheons over the years. DeEtta was a 60 year member of the St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary, Carroll Catholic Daughters of the Americas and St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
Left to celebrate DeEtta’s life are her children: Craig Bueltel and wife Donna of Louisville, Colo., and Mary Kay Bueltel of Greely, Colo.; her grandsons: Joshua, Joseph, Ian, and Zachary Bueltel. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and other extended relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Edward in 1992; four brothers: Henry, Louis, Julius, and Alvin Venteicher; and three sisters: Helena Fossing, Edna Kral, and Julia Hacker.
