Dale Lesle, age 69, of Auburn, Iowa, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll of an apparent heart condition. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, July 14, 2008, at Zion Lutheran Church in Auburn. Officiating will be Pastor Erland Asmus and Pastor Herman Kramer. The casket will be taken to the church at 8:30 A.M. Monday to lie in state until the time of the funeral service. Organist will be Judy Vote. Casket Bearers will be Breda St. Bernard Bobcats. Burial of the cremains will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Breda from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Sunday. Mr. Lesle was born on January 26, 1939, at Carroll, Iowa, the son of Harvey and Loretta (Jacobs) Lesle. He spent most of his lifetime on the family farm southwest of Auburn and graduated from Auburn High School in 1957. He then graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri. On July 10, 1966, he was married to Marigene Wagner at Corwith, Iowa. Mr. Lesle was a life long teacher and coach starting shortly after high school in 1957 with the Auburn Little League and ending in 1995 when he retired from Southern Cal High School and included teaching at Corwith-Wesley High School, Carroll High School, Breda St. Bernard High School, Lake View-Auburn High School, and Kuemper High School. His best know team was of course the Breda St. Bernard Bobcats Baseball Team which won a State Championship in 1975. Mr. Lesle was a member of Zion Lutheran Church at Auburn and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Survivors include his wife, Marigene Lesle of Auburn; children, Nancy Peterson and her husband Scott of Lake View, Larry Lesle and his wife Melissa of Manning, and Leanne Kading and her husband Phillip of Stuart; grandchildren, Bobby, Jamie, and Jackie Peterson, Alexis, Coltan, and Kamryn Lesle, and William Kading; a sister, Darlene Schilling and her husband Wayne of Cedar Rapids; mother-in-law, Bertha Wagner of Humboldt; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Kathy Wagner of Colorado, Dr. John and Shari Wagner of Indiana, Jeri and David Kettman of Montana, and Pam and Don Olson of Humboldt; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Duane Lesle; and his father-in-law, Gene Wagner.
