Clarice Loehr, 87 of Carroll, died early Sunday morning, September 20, 2015 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 24, 2015 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Craig Collison. Music will be by Kate Cuddy and the St. Lawrence Choir. Lector will be Karen Wood. Gift Bearers will be Janell Thomas, Michael Loehr, and Joyce Knauss. Eucharistic Ministers will be Leo and Joleen Kasparbauer. Casket Bearers will be: Brian Knauss, Corey Knauss, Tony Knauss, Adam Thomas, Amy Miller, Chris Loehr, Jennifer Loehr, and Cameron Klundt. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday where there will be a rosary at 5 p.m. and a Christian Wake Service at 6:30 p.m. The casket will be moved to St. Lawrence Church at 10 a.m. on Thursday where visitation will resume until time of the funeral mass.

Born on April 17, 1928 at Ulmer, Iowa, Clarice was the daughter of Joseph and Clara (Julich) Tegels. She spent her younger years on her family’s farm west of Carroll and attended St. Francis School in Maple River and later graduated from St. Angela Academy in Carroll in 1946.
On June 24, 1947, Clarice was united in marriage to J. Allen Loehr at St. Francis Catholic Church in Maple River. Clarice was employed at St. Lawrence with the hot lunch program for 9 years and in 1970 joined her husband in the family business, Loehr’s Jewelry, which is owned and operated currently by their son Michael Loehr.
Clarice enjoyed golfing, sewing, crocheting, cooking and lake life at Lake View and Lake Panorama. Mrs. Loehr was a member of St. Lawrence Church and Parish Ladies Guild.
Survivors include her children: Janell Thomas and her husband Ben of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, Michael Loehr and his wife Karen of Carroll, and Joyce Knauss and her husband Randy of Mankato, MN; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Wendell Craig of Omaha; Anita Tegels of Carroll and Don (Darlene) Riesberg of Halbur; as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended relatives.
Clarice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband J. Allen Loehr; a son, daughter, grandson, and granddaughter, all in infancy; her brothers: Fred, Jim, Leo, and Joe Tegels; and her sisters: Helen Tegels, Jewell Miller, Rose Mary Alexander, Lillian Riesberg, Joan Imming and Kathleen Skalla.
