Charles Wittrock, age 88, of Carroll, died Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Regency Park Nursing Home in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Schott. Music will be by Marcy Anderson and the St. Lawrence Choir. Lector will be Charles’ granddaughter, Tina Hacker. Gift Bearers will be Charles’ granddaughters: Stephanie Reuter, Tina Hacker, Ashley Wittrock, and Nikki Rodger. Eucharistic Ministers will be Sherry Wittrock. Casket Bearers will be Charles’ grandsons: Tony Wittrock, Curry Wittrock, Adam Fay, Jason Wittrock, Justin Wittrock, Noah Dryden, Chris Hacker, and John Reuter. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll, after 3:30 p.m. Monday where there will be a Rosary at 4 p.m. and a Christian Wake Service at 6 p.m.
The casket will be moved to St. Lawrence Church at 9 a.m. Tuesday morning where visitation will resume until the time of the funeral mass.

Born on April 19, 1926, in Hartington, Nebraska, Charles William was the son of Charles and Frances (Roth) Wittrock. At a young age Charles’ family moved to the Roselle area. He attended school at Holy Angles School in Roselle. After his schooling Charles farmed near the Roselle area. Charles was married to Isabelle Salcedo. From this union six children were born. Over the years Charles farmed, and ran heavy equipment for Leroy and Erv Bulldozer Service until his retirement. Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting, and leisurely drives across the countryside. Most of all Charles enjoyed the time that he spent with his family the most. Charles was a proud member of the National Rifle Association, and St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll.
Left to celebrate Charles’ life are his children: Steve (Sherry) Wittrock of Omaha, NE, Jim (Joyce) Wittrock of Carroll, Rosie (Steve) Sapp of Carroll, Ray (Judy) Wittrock of Carroll, Carolyn Wittrock of Carroll, and Marilyn (Jeff) Dryden of Carroll; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; his siblings: Clarence (Catherine) Wittrock of Carroll, Dorothy Berger of Lohrville, Velma Tigges of Carroll, Merlin Wittrock of Carroll, Ronnie (Janette) Wittrock of Anita; his in-laws: Ed Steinkamp of Wall Lake, and Bernice Wittrock of Carroll, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Alfred Wittrock, Jerry Wittrock; sister: Margie Steinkamp; and his brothers-in-law, Pat Tigges, and Alvin Berger.
