Cedella was on born on October 24, 1930 at Mt Carmel, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Julia (Bruning) Stangl. She grew up in Mount Carmel where she attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel grade school and then graduated from Carroll High School in 1948.
On November 16, 1950, Cedella was united in marriage to Arnold “Arnie” J. Danzer, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church with the Rev. Father Peter Sturm officiating. They farmed one mile south of the Carroll Airport where they raised their seven children. In 1993, after 43 years of farming, they retired and moved to an acreage near Carroll. Cedella was a member of the Holy Spirit Parish, Parish Ladies Guild and the Carroll Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Some of her favorite activities included socializing with family and friends, attending dances with Arnie, sewing, knitting and quilting. She also enjoyed collecting owls, and tending to her rose bushes and flowers. All of her children and grandchildren savored her home-made banana-chocolate chip cookies. Over the years, as her grandchildren grew to young adults, she lovingly created a custom-made quilt for each of them for their graduation. She also created numerous quilt-patch rugs for family and friends. She always had a new project in process.
Cedella and Arnie celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Aug. 2000, at the Holy Spirit Parish in the Bishop Greteman Center, hosted by their children and grandchildren.
