Camilla Timmerman, age 96, of Carroll, Iowa, died Saturday, November 15, 2008, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at St. Lawrence Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Father Timothy Schott. Lectors will be grandchildren, Steven Klocke and Jacquelyn Vote. Gift Bearers will be granddaughters, Camille Costa, Jennifer Kray, Tonia Leitz, Terri McGuire, JaLynn Otto, Andrea Timmerman, and Susan Smith. Soloist will be Jordan Otto. Eucharistic Ministers will be sons-in-law, Benjamin Costa, Ronald Klocke, and Henry Otto. The Carroll Catholic Daughters of America will form an honor guard for the funeral mass. Honorary Pallbearers will be grandsons, Christopher Klocke, David Klocke, Jonas Otto, Adam Timmerman, Chad Timmerman, and Doug Timmerman. Casket Bearers will be grandsons, Cory Costa, Keith Klocke, Jordan Otto, Kyle Timmerman, Shaun Timmerman, and Tom Timmerman. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 3:30 P.M. Monday. A rosary will be prayed at 4 P.M. Monday by the Carroll Catholic Daughters of America. There will be a Christian wake service at 7 P.M. Monday by St. Lawrence Parish. Mrs. Timmerman was born on August 30, 1912, at Armour, South Dakota, the daughter of William and Mary Ellen (Ryan) Barloon. Her family moved to Carroll in 1915 and she attended St. Lawrence School and St. Joseph School and graduated from Carroll High School in 1931. Following her education she worked at Burg Department Store, Marcucci’s Candy Kitchen, and was society editor for the Daily Times Herald. On January 18, 1937, she was married to Louis J. Timmerman at St. Joseph Church in Carroll with Msgr. P.T. Lynch officiating. The couple farmed south of Lake City and in 1945 moved to their farm northeast of Auburn. In November 1979 they retired and moved to their home in Carroll. While living at Auburn she was President of the Parish Altar Society, taught C.C.D., was instrumental in establishing St. Mary School and served on the St. Mary School Board, was a Girl Scout Leader, and member of the Band Parents Club. She was currently a member of St. Lawrence Parish, Parish Ladies Guild, Little Flower Study Club, Chat-N-Sew Club, Toastmistress Club, and member and Past Regent of the Carroll Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed playing piano, crocheting afghan’s, and playing bridge. Mrs. Timmerman had a ready smile and a love for her family, friends, and church. Survivors include her children, Richard Timmerman and his wife Judy of Ankeny, Luann Costa and her husband Benjamin of Broomfield, Colorado, Linda Klocke and her husband Ronald of North Mankato, Minn., David Timmerman and his wife Toots of Roanoke, Virginia, Dean Timmerman and his wife Ann of Auburn, and Lorie Otto and her husband Henry of Auburn; 21 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis Timmerman, in July 1988; a sister, Patricia Barloon; and brothers, Marvin and Wilbur Barloon.
