Bill “Padre” Munford, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023 at St. Anthony Nursing Home at the age of 83.
Bill was born in Hebron, Nebraska on September 17, 1939 to Gale Munford and Hazel Sweeney. Bill had three children; sons Randal and Kelly and a daughter Rachelle (Shelly). He had five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He loved his family very much, was so proud of them and talked about them often.
Bill moved to Carroll in 1998 He was employed at Drees Co. He then went to Kuemper from 2000 – 2007 where he was the Maintenance Director. While working at Kuemper, Bill received the title of “Padre”. Upon retiring from Kuemper, he returned to Drees Co. part time where he worked for 13 years. He was not just a co-worker, he was a friend and family.
Bill lived a great life. He was often told that he needed to write his life story as his adventures were many. He was a pilot and loved flying. He was a huge Nebraska Cornhusker fan, loved Crown, hated chicken “I eat nothing with a beak” and said the secret to a long life is Bud Light. Bill was a positive person with a quiet smile and contagious chuckle. He loved to tell a story. He had many friends in the Carroll area, including his Kerp’s crew.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, and son, Kelly, who passed away in 2022.
