Bev “Grams” Ware, age 77, of Carroll, died Sunday, October 1, 2017 at her residence in Carroll surrounded by her family.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 5 p.m. on Tuesday. There will be a prayer service held at 7 p.m. with Fr. Craig Collison officiating. Mrs. Ware will be taken to the Reece Funeral Home, 607 E. Second Street, Ottumwa, Iowa 52501, where visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 5, 2017 at the Reece Funeral Home. Casket Bearers will be Jeff Puffett, Keith Bauer, A.J. Smith, Randy Hoskins, Andy Mahurin, and John Strasko. Burial will be in the Shaul Cemetery in Ottumwa, Iowa.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be left at either funeral home in Mrs. Ware’s name to be used for bowling scholarships.

Beverly was born on December 28, 1939 at Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of V.R. and Wilda (Lester) Smith. She spent her younger years in the Ottumwa community and graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1958. On December 19, 1959, in York, Nebraska, Bev was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart Charles “Chuck” Ware. After Chuck was honorably discharged from the United State Air Force, the couple returned to Ottumwa and operated the A & W Drive In until 1978. In 1979 they moved to Carroll when they purchased the Carroll Bowl, a business the family operates to the present day. She was a long-time volunteer at New Hope Village in Carroll. Bev enjoyed sewing, cooking, bowling, entertaining, camping, and making people laugh. Most of all Bev enjoyed the time she spent and spoiling her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Ware is survived by her sons: Ken (Linda) Ware of Glidden, and Rod (Pam) Ware of Glidden; six grandchildren: Jennifer (Jeff) Puffett, Stacy (Keith) Bauer, Dawn Ware, Jon (Kimberly) Ware, Erica (Tim) Smuck, and Matthew Ware; eight great-grandchildren: Keaton, Kylie, Kiana, Cody, Randy, Brittany, Ali Jo, Pierceton; her siblings: Bob Smith of Las Vegas, NV, Bonnie Stufflebeam of Ottumwa, and Butch (Lila) Smith of Knoxville; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended relatives, and friends.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents, husband Chuck in 2009, a granddaughter: Jessica Ware; her siblings: Bill Smith, Barbara Heckert, Brenda Leach, and Betty Davis.
