Bernard J. Klocke, age 79, of Audubon, Iowa, died early Saturday, May 9, 2009, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at St. Joseph Church in Dedham. The Celebrant will be Father Anthony Pick assisted by Deacon Louis Meiners. The casket will be taken to the church at 8:30 A.M. Wednesday to lie in state until the time of the funeral mass. Lector will be Daryl Klocke. Gift Bearers will be Gina Wiges, Cory Tigges, Amanda Bruhn, and Aaron Bruhn. Mass Servers will be Danny and Brittany Baumhover. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Nursing Staff of the St. Anthony Hospital Dialysis Unit. Casket Bearers will be Cory Tigges, Aaron Bruhn, Dale Tigges, Russell Bruhn, Jesse Wiges, and Brian Handlos. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Dedham. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 2:30 P.M. Tuesday. A rosary will be prayed at 4 P.M. Tuesday. There will be a Christian wake service at 7:30 P.M. Tuesday by St. Joseph Parish. Memorials may be left at the funeral home or church for the Audubon County Hospital Foundation or the Friendship Home in Audubon. Mr. Klocke was born on July 8, 1929, at Dedham, Iowa, the son of Anton and Anna (Golwitzer) Klocke. He spent his lifetime in the Dedham and Audubon communities and graduated from St. Joseph School in Dedham in 1944. On September 25, 1951, he was married to Delores Rose Sporrer at St. Joseph Church in Dedham with Father Henry Pick officiating. The couple farmed north of Dedham until 1965 when they moved to their farm eight miles south of Dedham. Mr. Klocke was a grain and livestock farmer. He was a member of St. Joseph Parish. Mr. Klocke enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren, and was looking forward to being a great grandpa. He also enjoyed playing euchre, farming, and visiting with his friends and family. Survivors include his daughters, Bonnie Tigges and her husband Dale of Audubon, and Beverly Bruhn and her husband Russell of Audubon; four grandchildren, Gina Wiges and her husband Jesse, Cory Tigges, Amanda Bruhn, and Aaron Bruhn; a newly born great granddaughter, Presley Lynn Wiges; special friend, Ruth Olsen of Audubon; brothers, Wilbur Klocke and his wife Louise of Carroll, Leonard Klocke and his wife Leona of Carroll, and Ronald Klocke and his wife Linda of Mankato, Minn.; sisters, Lavina Kaiser of Palentine, Illinois, Dorothy Schon and her husband Bill of Glidden, and Annabelle Fox and her husband Jack of Manning; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Florence Fledderman of Carroll, and Ray and Bernice Sporrer of Carroll. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Klocke, in November 1995; his parents; a sister, Loretta Greving; and a brother, Alfred Klocke.
