November 3, 1943 - April 11, 2022

Kay Boyce, 78 of Carroll, died Monday, April 11, 2022, at her residence in Carroll. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Holy Spirit Church - St. John Paul II Parish in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Kevin Richter. Mass Servers will be Austin Halbur and Cassidy Halbur. Music will be by Kathy Halbur. Lectors will be Cheryl Rosen and Sheila Higgins. Gift Bearers will be Molly Boell, Micaela Boyce, and Kaylee Forbush. Casket Bearers will be Loren Boyce, Alex Boyce, Aaron Boyce, Andrew Boell, Eric Boell, and Brett Forbush. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. There will be a Christian Wake service at 7 p.m. Additional visitation will be from 9:30-10:15 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for Kay's family at www.sharpfuneral.com. Born on November 3, 1943 in Carroll, Iowa, Marikay (Kay) was the daughter of Norbert & Dolores (Imming) Snyder. She spent her younger years in the Mount Carmel and the Maple River area. On June 19, 1965, she married John “Larry” Boyce at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Mount Carmel, Iowa. Kay was employed at Pauline’s restaurant and Beiter’s Market before helping own and operate Boyce Monumental Sales with her family. She was an avid Cubs fan, enjoyed Alan Jackson music & concerts and collected P Buckley Moss paintings. Kay loved spending time with her grandchildren, playing card games and had a love for flowers & gardening. She always looked forward to spending time on fishing trips with her family, bike riding with the neighbors and quilting with her close friends & sister. Kay is survived by her husband Larry Boyce of Carroll; her children: Lynn (Brett) Forbush of Bloomfield Township, MI, Loren (Karen) Boyce of Carroll, and Karen (Eric) Boell of Carroll; her grandchildren: Alex Boyce, Aaron Boyce, Molly Boell, Micaela Boyce, Andrew Boell, and Kaylee Forbush; her siblings: Robert (Agatha) Snyder of Des Moines, Jean Pawletzki of Carroll, Diane (Cliff) Hoffman of Carroll, Shirley Hansen of Urbandale, Sharon Wilson of Ames, Darrell (Meg) Snyder of Carroll, Denise Newmann (Mick Towers) of Adel and Daniel Snyder (Esther Jacobsen) of Ankeny; her sisters-in-law: Linda (Sal) Lahey of Tennessee, Louise Barrett of Arizona, and Lois Boyce of Illinois; her uncle, Art (Beulah) Imming of Fonda; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives. Kay was preceded in death by her parents; her nieces, Mary Ann Hoffman, Joanna Reinart, and Jackie Reinart Evans and her brothers-in-law, Virgil Hansen, Daryl Neumann, Paul Pawletzki, Paul Reinart, Al McNamara, and Wayne Barrett.
