Dorothy Kluver, age 94, of Carroll, died Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Accura Healthcare in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Holy Spirit Church – St. John Paul II Parish in Carroll. The celebrant will be Fr. Kevin Richter. Con-Celebrant will be Fr. Merlin Schrad. Music will be by Kathy Halbur and Sherry Loughran. Lector will be Jim Berning and Meghan Rupiper. Gift Bearers will be Dorothy’s granddaughters. Casket Bearers will be Dorothy’s grandsons. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be held from 9 to 9:45 a.m. on Saturday at Holy Spirit Church.

Dorothy, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Brummer) Quandt was born on May 5, 1928 at Charter Oak, Iowa. She grew up in Charter Oak and attended school. After her formal education Dorothy returned home where she worked on her family farm.
On April 21, 1948, Dorothy was united in marriage to Albert Kluver in Charter Oak, Iowa. The couple farmed near Ute and Danbury before moving to Charter Oak in 1958. In 1967 they relocated to Carroll. In addition to being a devoted homemaker, Dorothy cleaned many homes in the area for over 46 years. Dorothy enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and dancing at many area dances. Dorothy was a member of St. John Paul II Parish in Carroll.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Dean Kluver of Carroll, Randy (Pam) Kluver of Carroll, Nancy (Jim) Gross of Carroll, Terry (Sandy) Kluver of Carroll, and Lisa (Jim) Berning of Carroll; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; a brother – James (Donna) Quandt of Westside; a sister-in-law Veronica Quandt of Carroll; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended relatives.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Albert in 2003; her siblings: Paul, Harry, Robert, Francis “Butch”, her twin brother Donald, Norman, Marcella Kluver, Evelyn Jenkins, an infant sister, Marjorie.
