Melvina Hahn, age 85, of Carroll died Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at Regency Park Nursing Home in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2015 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Johnson. Music will be by Barb McDermott and the Holy Spirit Choir with John Wagner as soloist. Lector will be Mandy Halbur. Gift Bearers will be Julie Hahn, Stephanie Conger, and Lexi Hahn. Eucharistic Ministers will be Glenn Hahn, Dan Hackfort, and Vern Seidl. Casket Bearers will be Mike Hahn, Brian Lindsay, Mike Halbur, Mike Brincks, Allen Klocke, and Nick Henkle. Burial will be at Holy Angels Cemetery in Roselle.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, where there will be a Rosary at 5 p.m., and a Christian Wake Service at 7 p.m.
The casket will be moved to Holy Spirit Church at 9:30 a.m. Friday, where visitation will resume until the time of the funeral mass.

Born on July 1, 1929 at Willey, Iowa, Melvina was the daughter of Joe and Mary (VonBon) Brincks. She grew up in the Willey area where she attended St. Mary’s School. On May 25, 1948 she was united in marriage to Lawrence Hahn at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Willey with the Rev. H.J. Dries officiating. After their marriage the couple made their home near the Roselle community where Melvina was a devoted homemaker. In 1983 the couple moved to the Carroll community. Melvina enjoyed sewing, flowers, polka music, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish in Carroll, where she was also active with the Women’s Guild.
Left to celebrate Melvina’s life are her children: Ronald Hahn of Roselle, Daryl (Lisha) Hahn of Carroll, Nebraska, Patricia Lindsay of Carroll, Dan Hahn of Roselle, Steve Hahn of Roselle, and Lori (Robert) Wells of Carroll; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; her silbings: Alphons Brincks of Carroll, and Delores (Delbert) Kasperbauer of Carroll; her brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law: Henry Seidl of Carroll, Louise Kennebeck of Carroll, Diane Brincks of Carroll, Ruth Klocke of Minnesota, Bernice (Ray) Sporrer of Carroll, and Louis (Linda) Hahn of Churdan, as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended relatives.
Melvina was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lawrence on November 10, 1995; two children: Roger, and Margene in infancy; a grandson, Brady Hahn; a son-in-law, Dale Lindsay, and six siblings: Leonard Brincks, Bernadine Rust, Agatha Hackfort, Roceal Knobbe, Bernilda Seidl, and Donald Brincks; as well as other extended relatives.
