Marrie L. Sullivan

Marrie Sullivan, 73 of Carroll, died Friday morning, March 14, 2014 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Johnson. Music will be by Barb McDermott, Holy Spirit Choir with John Wagner as soloist. Lector for the funeral mass will be Art Reiff. Gift Bearers will be Marrie’s grandchildren. Eucharistic Minister will be Marty Riesberg. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. Marrie’s family will receive friends after 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll where there will be a rosary at 5 p.m. and a Christian Wake Service at 6:30 p.m. The family will also greet friends and family beginning at 9:30 a.m on Wednesday at the church until time of the funeral mass. Born on October 11, 1940 at Carroll, Iowa, Marrie was the daughter of Louis and Florence (Schirck) Reiff. She was baptized at confirmed at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and graduated from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School. Marrie worked as a waitress in her younger years and then worked at General Electric, Sernetts, and Fareway, where she worked for 20 years until her retirement in 2010. She enjoyed her card clubs, yard work, nature, and walking around Swan Lake. Marrie was also active in the funeral choir at Holy Spirit Church in Carroll. She loved socializing with her friends and family and spending time with her grandchildren. Marrie is survived by her children: Patty Foster and husband Scot of Ogden, Pam Sullivan of Boone, Penny Sullivan of Omaha, NE, Peggy Klocksiem and husband Roger of Glidden, and Paula Riesberg and her husband Marty of Maryland; her grandchildren: David, Cody, Zach, Kristin, Jimmy, Trevor, Wyatt, Andrew, and Benjamin; and her great-grandchild, Owen; her siblings: Art Reiff of Mt. Carmel, Della Reiff of Carroll, and Jean (Clifford) Eischeid of Carroll; her sister-in-law: Ella Mae Reiff of Carroll; as well as other extended relatives and many friends. Marrie was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Alvin Reiff; and her sister-in-law, Sally Reiff.
