Margie Love

Margie Love, age 73 of Roselle, died Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan, Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 6, 2011 at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. Officiating will be Pastor David Schaal from the Carroll First Assembly of God Church. Music will be by Bill Benson. Casket Bearers will be: Mike Hunt, Tim Robbins, Bill Benson, Jim Mielk, and Gary Magill. Burial will in the Carroll City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll from 4-6 pm where there will be a prayer service at 6 p.m. Online condolences may be left for Margie’s family at www.sharpfuneral.com. Margie was born on March 30, 1938 at Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Michael and Stella (Hebel) Kapior. She grew up and attended school in the Chicago area and later attended Wilson Junior College in Chicago where she studied language. Margie worked as a dispatcher at the Crouse Cartage Company where she met her husband John Love. John and Margie were married on November 16, 1974 at Chicago, Illinois. John and Margie moved to Des Moines and in 1976 moved to Roselle. Margie worked a brief time at the Carroll Manor, serving as the Activity Coordinator. For many years Margie worked at HyVee as a lead checker. Margie volunteered many hours to the R.S.V.P. and also lead a singing group for the local nursing homes. In her spare time she enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, and the Carroll First Assembly of God Church. Survivors include her son, Richard Powers Jr. of Manhattan, Kansas; her grandchildren: Shianne, Maigan, Michelle, and Michael Powers, all of Manhattan, Kansas; sisters in-law and brothers in-law: Elizabeth Campabell of Des Moines, Mary (Melvin) Feldhoff of Hampton, Avis (Bill) Fitzgerald of Des Moines, Andrew Love of Orange, TX, and Melvin Love of Pleasantville; as well as other extended relatives and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, John Love, in February, 2002.
