Eileen Ann Beyerink

Eileen “Leenie” Beyerink, 67 of Maple River, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Spirit Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Johnson. Music will be by Paula Theulen and the Holy Spirit Celebration Choir. Gift Bearers will be Eileen’s grandchildren: Marissa Rahe, and Dylan, Carter, and Jake Wieland. Eucharistic Ministers will be Gary and LuAnn Reicks. Honorary Casket Bearers will be: Denise Heinrichs, Diane Campbell, Margie Nagl, Dan “Boone” Hermsen, Maury Julich, Eugene Nieland, Ron and Tammy Kraus, and Lowell and Marilyn Wuebker. Casket Bearers will be: Todd Danner, Rob Klink, Kevin Skinner, Lynn Wuebker, Jay Riesberg, and Tim Heinrichs. The Arcadia American Legion Auxiliary will form an honor guard for the funeral mass. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery in Maple River. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 3:30 p.m. on Friday where there will be a rosary at 4 p.m. and a Christian Wake Service by the parish at 6:30 p.m. The casket will be moved to Holy Spirit Church at 8:30 a.m. Saturday where visitation will resume until time of the funeral mass. Born on August 27, 1944 at Carroll, Iowa, Eileen Ann was the daughter of Joseph and Velma (Niehaus) Schroeder. She spent her younger years in the Arcadia Community and attended St. John School, later graduating from Kuemper High School in 1962. Following her formal education Leenie attended the Iowa School of Beauty and began working for Hannasch Beauty Shop. On April 23, 1966 she married Leonard Beyerink Jr. at St. John Catholic Church in Arcadia. In 1968, following the death of Leonard’s father, Junior and Leenie assumed ownership of Little Gus’s in Maple River. Leenie’s husband passed away in 1994 and she continued to own and operate the business. Leenie dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren and always put the needs of others before her own. She also enjoyed reading, country music and socializing with the many patrons at Little Gus’s. She was a member of the Arcadia American Legion Auxiliary, lifelong member of St. Francis Church where she was active in the many church functions, and was currently a member of Holy Spirit Parish in Carroll. Survivors include two daughters: Jodi Wieland and her husband Kevin of Templeton, and Jackie Rahe and her husband Dean of Bancroft; four grandchildren: Dylan, Carter, and Jake Wieland, and Marissa Rahe; two sisters: Karen (Kenny) Baumhover of Maple River, and LuAnn (Gary) Reicks of Lake City; her brother-in-law, Gary Beyerink of Maple River; her sister-in-law, Carol (Steve) Macke of Faribault, MN; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Leonard “Junior” Beyerink in April 1994; granddaughter, Gabrielle Rahe; and her parents-in-law, Leonard Sr. and Rita Beyerink.
